It’s that time of the year again. LOWVELO is upon us. Please let me know if you are willing and able to support this event again. Date is set for Saturday Nov 7th.
I know Linda Selleck KJ4EVV has been net control in the past but due to scheduling conflicts she has asked that i step in and take over as net control. Currently I’m looking to fill 12 SAG vehicles in the jump seat so you will have a driver. We will have 4 rest stops along the routes that will also need a radio operator. They would also like a tail gunner to follow the last rider on the full course. The tail gunner can use their own vehicle this year and Medalist Sports will cover your gas.
All radio operators will be able to eat at the venue and will be provided volunteer t-shirts. I plan to get the shirts early to get them to you or have them to hand out when you arrive. Those working the rest stops if you don’t want to drive to IOP I understand and can have a SAG deliver your shirt to you if we don’t get them early enough.
SAGs and RS equipment needed.
Mobile or Handheld radio. Mag mount antenna, and power source (battery preferred)
Rest stop if you have a roll up j-pole and mast that would be helpful.
We are planning on using the Awendaw repeater 146.76 so handhelds should be good. Antenna outside the vehicle is better.
If you have an APRS capable radio that is a bonus for me.
